New 2-In-One Video Program Available on VHS & DVD
May 22, 2004 -- "Strong Bones Yoga™" (63 minutes, $19.95), was created by Certified Yoga Therapist, Christine Dormaier, who has enhanced the ancient art of yoga with her innovative use of small, light hand weights for increased strength and fitness. The unique, easy-to-master workouts have been designed to benefit yoga enthusiasts, as well as, physical fitness devotees of all ages and capabilities.
"Strong Bones Yoga™", featuring personable Dormaier, with able assistance from instructors, Patricia Ballard and Alicia Morgan, is divided into three 20-minute workouts that concentrate on building bone density to help prevent osteoporosis, and increase strength without adding bulk. Routines are spirited and dynamic, while evoking a sense of ease and grace. Men and women of all fitness levels can benefit from ‘Strong Bones Yoga™'.
Required for each activity segment are a chair and blanket, together with light, hand weights of 1 to 3 lbs for novices or 4 to 7 lbs for the more experienced exerciser. Improvement in coordination and muscle flexibility are obvious benefits of the ‘strong bones yoga' program. The unusual use of hand weights adds to the enjoyment of the regimens, as the body is visibly toned, strength is increased, and energy released. The combination of yoga moves and postures with strength training is an important approach to complete mind and body fitness, for a more fulfilling lifestyle.
Christine Dormaier has been certified by the American Viniyoga Institute, advocates of the T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar yoga teachings.
