Internationally renowned Yoga instructors in Toronto For The Yoga Show and Conference
November 20th-23rd, 2003.
September 18 2003--Yoga devotees of all levels will have the opportunity to learn, grow and advance their practice with the help of 31 respected Yoga teachers from Canada and abroad. Over a four-day period more than 20 thousand like-minded individuals will participate in yoga classes, seminars, asana (yoga posture) demonstrations and be exposed to hundreds of products and services for a yoga lifestyle.
The Yoga Show and Conference aims to be a vibrant community where participants can derive benefits from both individual and collective practice. Instructors from around the world have been carefully selected to help with this objective.
The esteemed instructors from across Canada and the US include the "First Lady of Yoga", Lilias Folan who, as a result of her television shows, books, audio tapes, and seminars, is regarded as one of America's most knowledgeable and respected yoga gurus. Toronto native Esther Myers, who has been practicing yoga for over 30 years and has authored several books, including "Gentle Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors", leads a seminar called "Facing Cancer". Also on the list is Ravi Singh, the "Teachers Teacher" and author of over 20 books and videos. Ted Grand, the co-director of Bikram Yoga studios in Toronto and Vancouver will share the secrets of Bikram. Nike's official face of Yoga, Seane Corn, offers a class on Vinyasa Flow: The Sacred Dance of Transformation. Beryl Bender Birch the best selling author of "Power Yoga" will share some of what she has learned since she first began practicing yoga in 1971. Teacher, author and founder of Jivamukti yoga, David Life leads a class on the Perfection of Action. Spiritual guru Bhagavan Das will give a special concert performance and will lead a seminar on chanting.
In total thirty-one Yoga experts will be offering 108 classes throughout the duration of the four-day Yoga Show and Conference. The classes will range in level from beginner to teacher. Each class will have a unique focus, with topics including "Sacred Rainbow: Exploring the Chakras through Asana", "Yogic Fear Reduction", "Posture Clinic" and much more.
In addition to the classes an exhibition show floor will feature 175 exhibitors who will showcase a large variety of yoga products and services. Meditation sessions, and asana (posture) demonstrations in a professionally designed studio will also be offered.
Other special features on the show floor include a multi-media presentation called "Himalayan Visions and Tibetan Voices"; and a Dharma (teachings) talk series led by the editors of Ascent, Shambhala Sun, and Yoga International magazines.
Partial Proceeds from the Yoga Show and Conference evening events will support EYE (Early Yoga Education), a not-for-profit organization that will provide yoga teachers for kids in schools.
The Yoga Show and Conference is set to be an exciting and stimulating experience for all yogis young and old, experienced or novice.
